We strive to make this transition as easy as possible:

  • Connect those who recently received asylum to programs & services

  • Ensure pre-arrival arrangements for arriving refugees

  • Conduct post-arrival case management and provide direct assistance

  • Offer community and cultural orientation on topics such as Cultural Adjustment, Education, Financial Literacy, Health, Housing, Transportation, and U.S. Laws.

  • Enroll refugees into English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes

  • Support parents to enroll children in school

  • Provide information and referrals to social services and benefits

  • Prepare refugees for work, and place refugees in employment positions

Refugees are admitted to the United States through an extensive vetting process. The US Government oversees the program through the Department of State’s Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration and the Office of Refugee Resettlement. Learn more about the process of becoming a refugee.
