Eviction Prevention

Know your rights options

Our workers explain what one’s rights are under the law and use all the tools available to stop the eviction. They negotiate with landlords, work with legal services, help families learn to manage a household budget and provide limited financial assistance where possible.  We are also honest with you if it is not possible to stop the eviction and help you explore other solutions.

Eviction Prevention Grant Program (EPGP)

The Eviction Prevention Grant Program (EPGP) helps tenants who are facing housing court proceedings or are subject to eviction. The program provides support with navigating court proceedings by providing guidance, education, and connections to financial and legal resources. The goal of the program is to prevent evictions and increase housing stability.

Through EPGP, Catholic Charities works with clients to understand their situation, provide legal and limited legal representation, advocacy and support with securing financial assistance to avoid eviction.
