Fostering spiritual, cultural and athletic growth

For many Catholics, Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) is a household term. The Baby Boom generation of Catholics fondly remembers playing a sport, participating in a musical production, attending a parish dance or winning a prize in art or an essay contest in their home Dioceses across the nation!

For more than 80 years, CYO New York has fostered the spiritual, cultural and athletic growth of young people across the 10 counties of the Archdiocese. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Len Elmore, Chris Mullin and Tina Charles are just a few sport luminaries who are quick to point out that they first learned their technical skills and the all-important values of sportsmanship on a CYO team.

CYO New York proudly serves more than 28,000 youth each year in sports, spiritually-based activities promoting health, sportsmanship, fairness and team-building.
